The 4th and 5th grade students have refined their work habits and are challenged with more complex subject matter. They move away from independent floor work and begin to do more collaborative work with group and partner assignments. They are given organizational tools to help with daily and long range planning. Students enjoy hands-on experiments and makerspace challenges that reinforce their lessons. At this level, students receive numeric grades for their performance and discover a new level of motivation.
